Could anyone please tell me if SAA flight attendants are able to speak Afrikaans and if announcements are made in Afrikaans as well as in English ? Thank you for the information. I flew back from Kinshasa yesterday on SAA, and all announcements were made in English. About three weeks ago I flew from Harare on SAA, and all announcements were made in English apart from a short paragraph from the pilot about the landing which was in Afrikaans. I imagine that the majority of the flight attendants can speak Afrikaans, but I doubt that it is an employment requirement.
