AA really needs to get a new PR agency, and a new spokesman.
"The airline defended the fee, saying it was a bargain compared with the
cost of shipping a 45-pound bag overnight on a package-delivery company.
A spokesman for the airline said the cost of sending a bag from Dallas
to New York would range from $150 to $230 or more."

AA was apparently taken by surprise when no other airlines followed
their lead in charging for the first checked bag.
It'd be one thing if AA was at least $30 cheaper than competing airlines
for the same route, but in fact, on two routes I checked for the heck of
it they are more expensive (though on one of them I'd pay more for AA
because they are non-stop).

American is run by bean counters - I don't fault them for trying to recover
their costs and for trying to make a profit, but I think the way they are
trying to do this is counter-productive. Build baggage cost into your fare
and stop nickel and diming.

Then cheapskates like Earl the Airhead compares fares blindly and
grabs the cheapest, particularly if they go through at least 15 cities
to get to where you're going. Better to catch them at the airport and
have a laugh.

That's the difference, As Earl the Airhead can never understand, you
pay for what you get.

The fjuktards running AA have been a.sholes for many, many years.
In the late 80's or early 90's, I forget exactly, the head of AA said, in
regards to industry leadership, that AA would lead the industry in
increasing airfares. Not to long after that, they abandonded KSJC as their
west coast hub becuase they couldn't match the competition that Southwest
brought to that airport.

AA isn't the only airline flying between the US and Europe, fjukktard.
Even Sir Freddy's airline gave much better service that AA ever did.

Who said they were sh.t for brains? Watch the other follow if AA's
move works.

And went bankrupt and out of business. As brilliant as you.
