>>>>>> Are there any companies that specialize in reasonably priced airline
tickets to Europe? I need to fly out in a couple of days and most standard
services want half a kidney for a ticket. Los Angeles to Madrid.
I just looked at www.sidestep.com for 4nov to 11nov r-t lax-mad and they
have Iberia at $608 and Continental at $619. www.hotwire.com has it at
$617, so that's no help.

$600 for last minute sounds great.
In addition to the other suggestions, this would be a good time to try
Priceline.
Alternatively, look at the cheapest tickets to London and then take Ryanair
or other low-budget carrier from there.

What are your suggested 'low-ball' bids (percentage wise) for Priceline. Any
other suggestions?
Thanks.............

If it were me I'd try $350 (remember it's a pre-tax price). Then they'd come
back saying that I had to bid $500 if I wanted any sort of chance at all,
and then I'd probably get it for $425.

Sounds good to have some idea what they require. Who makes the decisions? A
computer or a person using load capacity figures?
Thanks,

A computer. The decision is usually instant.
