Hi
I'm in Uk and have a flight booked to Ti land in June. I paid full
amount already £750.00 and now need to cancell my holiday. I have
been made aware that i may loose most or some of my money!!. Before I
approach the flight bookers that I paid the money to, can anyone give
me some information on how to go about it best?
Is there a standard charge for cancellations? is it on a sliding scale
on the notification of non travel to the date of departure.
Is there discretion used with regards to reason for cancellation??.
Thanks in advance
Mike

First check your travel insurance and see if you can claim through them.

The first thing you need to do is read the T&Cs thst were sent with
your ticket.

Call up and ask what the cancellation charge is for the ticket. If you do
need to cancel, be honest about the reason and they may be able to help
you. Check with your travel insurance company as well - as long as it's
not disinclination to travel you should be covered at least partially.

Not for scheduled flights, sometimes for charter flights. You haven't
indicated the airline or the route, so we can't really comment.

Not usually. Cancellation is cancellation. The only discretion is that
sometimes an airline may waive part/all of the cancellation fee if you're
cancelling for the death/serious illness of a family member - and they'll
need to see paperwork to prove it.

Generally the cheapest tickets do not allow any refunds at all, a mid priced
ticket may allow it for say GBP50 whereas a full fare economy ticket will
allow refunds with no penalties.

Early cancellation *might* lead to a lower cancellation fee.

I have no idea where Ti is and what the cancellation policies are in
the UK or which carrier you are on. In the US, there are cancellation
penalties of $50-100 but you get a voucher to use on another flight.

You can't work out where "Ti land" might be?
Try Siam. This airline can probably get you there:
