The following was sent to the TSA website:

RE: ON-LINE ACCESS TO SECURITY RELATED TRAVEL INFO - Today my daughter
traveled alone for the first time on a domestic flight. As we prepared
her to navigate the air transportation system the thought came to mind,
how does a first time traveler or even an experienced traveler best
prepare themselves for the current TSA security requirements? A quick
search led me to the TSA website where I found the answer presented for
the most part in text format spread over multiple hyperlinks.
SUGGESTION: Add a graphic webpage to the TSA website that clearly
displays links to key areas of interest for the general traveling
public. Make this webpage easy to access if not the primary portal to
the TSA website. This web interface should use icons and images rather
than paragraphs of text. It should quickly offer the user access to key
tips and security requirements at-a-glance. Limit the use of complex
graphics and streamline the interface so that users with limited
bandwidth and in a hurry to catch a flight can get the most useful
information in the least time. The website should also be PDA
compatible. In addition, let the public know about this new one-stop
travel security advisory website. Maybe President Bush could mention it
to the press and get the word out. He has access to the best media
immediately. TSA has done a great job improving the security system but
the general public would benefit from easy access to travel security
information.

Seeing the system from the perspective of a first time user was
insightful.
