Transiting DFW this afternoon about 1500 local, I saw an L-1011 in ATA
livery at a high gate in Terminal B.  Was it a military leave charter
enroute to Kuwait/Baghdad/similar destination?

Yes, it was a R&R flight from/to Kuait City.  ATA and North American
Airlines (they're most noted for feeder service for El Al, and service to
Guyana(sp))alternate with a pretty-much-daily service, ATA using the L10,
and North American flying 763's.
