We will be flying the day after Christmas from Springfield, MO to Palm
Springs, CA.  We change planes (a 2 hr layover) in Dallas.  Does this
mean we will go through the security checkpoint(s?) at Dallas as well?
I'd like to know if we have to factor in time for a Dallas security
check?
thank you,
Mel
(haven't travelled by air since right before 9-11)

No. Unless you intentionally leave airside, there's no reason to get rescreened.
The new DFW Airlink tram connects all the terminals inside security.

It doesn't allow connections from International to US Domestic without going
through security.

Well, true, but no US airport allows that. In any case, Springfield, MO to Palm
Springs, CA isn't an international transfer - at least not usually.

It can vary.  I've flown out of Atlanta after coming in on other
domestic flights a number of times and sometimes they made us go
through another security check and sometimes not.  Probably depends on
what the latest warnings they are getting.  I've had friends miss
flights when they got to the airport with 2 hours lead because security
had been tightened.

Could you be a little more specific? I've been thorugh Atlanta hundreds of times
and am reasonably familiar with all of the terminals there. The old 'T' gates
probably still have isolated hallways (they used to be used for international
flight arrivals), but all the usual jetways dump everyone right into a
concourse. I've also never been screened on a domestic connection there.

It won't "vary" in the OP's case. There is a clear answer to the
question. They do NOT have to go through security again.
They aren't going though Atlanta, they are going through DFW
Is this some attempt to advertise your site by answering this kinds of
questions without really answering them?

Additionally, I have never had to go through security again when making
a domestic to domestic connection in Atlanta.
