Environmental zones, or "Particle-Free Emission Zones" are urban zones
in which it is forbidden to drive a motor vehicle without a special
sticker. These zones are an international trend. Here's a list of the

In the USA, Oregon state law requires employers and developers to
construct developments that encourage alternate modes of travel.
In Utah, state law requires all road projects and developments to
take the poor into consideration
In California, San Francisco and Santa Monica both have
Sustainability Plans which call for an eventual end to car travel as
does Berkeley
Europe is aiming for car-free cities by 2020.
