Am an American citizen that would like to visit Vietnam from BKK in Sept.
Can you let me know how to obtain a visa and the cost and what is needed?
A good flight out of BKK to Siagon..
So sorry to have to ask these questions but have not found any good web site
for the answers.
Also a good reasonable clean hotel in the city center.

You can get a visa pretty easily at the Vietnamese embassy in Bangkok.
It's on Wireless Road right by the Phloen Chit skytrain station.
I'm not sure what the fee is exactly but I'd guess in the neighborhood
of US$25.
Last time I did it, it took 3 days and they wanted a photo. Rush service
was available for a bit higher price.
AirAsia has cheap flights. Not the world's most luxurious airline, but
it's a short flight, plus you can easily buy online which is very
convenient.
