I am looking for the Yodibashe departmentstore song, they play all day in
front of and in the shop. It is like a mickey mouse melody.
I am also looking for the melody they play when a traffic light turns green
for people crossing the street. In some cities they play a tune in Japan,
for example in Nagano.
Thank you.

They are not the same in all cities. Most common is the famous
"sakura" song.

If you don't have any luck here, you could try the fj.life.in-japan
newsgroup. I guess you mean the Yodobashi Camera store?

I have always wondered how the staff can handle the same song over and over
for years

I don't have a source for the words, but the melody is what
in the U.S. would be the "Battle Hymn of the Republic". I
know it's absolutely maddening to be wandering around
Yodobashi Camera (I usually go to the one near Shinjuku
Station) and be hearing that tune CONSTANTLY. I would
imagine the staff would go mad if they haven't developed some
way to tune it out. All I remember of the words is that it ends
with "Camera! Yodobashi Cam-er-a!!!!"
Oh, and note the spelling of their name. They've got a web
site (www.yodobashi.com), but it doesn't give even a hint of
having an English-language version.
