I notice that hotel prices in Ao Nang (Krabi), Thailand from November
1 and after are double or triple the prices before November.  I am
planing a trip this November 4 (can't go sooner).  My question is, are
the prices better on the internet through the hotel travel agencies,
or better just showing up?  Are rooms really scarce after November 1?
Thank you for any information you can provide.

I've been to Au Nang 7 times (love it!).  November is the start of
high season, that's why the prices go up.  Still, you save a lot when
booking online.  For example, you can get the Somkietburi for 1200
baht online but if you walk up it's over 3000 baht.  If you just want
to stay at a cheap guesthouse, you could always just show up and walk
around looking.  You should be able to find something even in high
season.

Very seldom will you receive a better price by just showing up at
hotel than you will by booking in advance
