China - Single or Double Entry Visa

My trip to China will be return through Guangzhou (singe entry visa). If
before I return I want to spend several days in Hong Kong and leave China
from Guangzhou, will I need a double entry visa (U.S. > Guangzhou > Hong
Kong > Guangzhou > U.S.)? Thanks in advance.

Yes, or you'll have to get another visa in HK.
