Looking for moderately priced package for Thailand that does not
include airfare. I already have the flight covered, round trip from NY
to Bangkok. I am going on my own from NY to meet up with someone from
Europe. She is travelling with her family to Bangkok and has already
booked a package. But I cant use it since its only meant for people
from that country. Does anyone know of any reliable travel web sites or
agents where I can get a package for Thailand that does not include
airfare? Any ideas?

Why do you want a package Kay?

Travelling around Thailand is very easy and cheap. You could easily work
out a suitable itinerary for yourself with the assistance of this NG or
better, go to soc.culture.thai.

Kay, much as I hate to look like a </me too> post, I have to echo K.Sandy's
post.
If you are meeting someone you will want to leave your itinerary as open as
possible.  If there is one thing that is not lacking in Thailand, it is
accommodation!

Personally speaking, though - I'd say don't linger too long in Bkk/KT - get
yourself on a train to the north and meet some real people  8¬ )

Are you saying I'm not a real person Geoff ? :-)))) Just joking... I
know exactly what you mean. Even many Bangkokians will admit that they
are not representative of  "real" Thais

I don't get what you're after exactly? There's no problem arranging
accommodation through web sites or upon arrival. What exactly would this
package provide, and how would it avoid being annoying and constrictive in
doing so?
