I've got frequent flier miles to burn before I leave Australia for
good and Darwin is about the only place I have not scene that I can
use these Qantas miles on. Worth going to? What are the sites? Food?
Good lodging. Flying from Sydney on a Friday and heading back on a
Monday. In October.

Darwin is for the most part (others will/may take exception this is the
usement!) a great location for outdoors of a tropical nature. The
surrounding area has a rugged outback. Try looking at Kakadu National
Park for starters. Oh yes famous for crocodiles, Swimming has risk in
the NT

Just have two days there and want to relax, eat well, a little sight
see -- no time to get out into the outback. So is it worth it?

If it were me, I might go, but if I wanted food and wine, I would think
Melbourne and head to the Yarra Valley or go to Hobart- great wines good
seafood and except for the next month or so beautiful weather.

I've been to all those cities, every major one except Broome and
Darwin. And I don't have the time and FF miles for Broome. (And I
agree on Hobart, just a FYI. I've ben down under for two years, living
in Sydney, and surprisingly Hobart is my favorite town. (after Uluru,
lol.)

Still yes in my opinion. There is easily two days entertainment to be had in
Darwin. If you are there on the right days, check out the Mindil Markets.
