If you sprint over to Ajo Heights RV park, there are some Canadians in
lot 31 who have one and belong to a teardrop trailer group that holds
rallies in many locations.

Say hello to Larry.

The directory just came today. We were paid up to the end of 2005, but
they keep sending the magazine and now the 1006 membership directory.
Good thing they are not using the Livingston address or I'd be paying
extra postage.

Congrats on the Country Coach. I wouldn't have gone for another Newmar
either with this Parks clown at the helm. He's turning Newmar into
another Fleetwood.

So, tell us about the new Coach?????

Well if you click on this link, they have all thee info.  Can't say for
sure, but believe THAT is a picture of MY coach, as it was built especially
for the Rally in Daytona Beach.  The craftsmanship is the best, no the BEST!
I have ever seen in an entry level coach.  Much, much better than the work
done in the Mountain Aire.   We are still adjusting to being shorter, wider,
and taller than before.  This one is just under 40 ft., whereas the Newmar
was just OVER 41 ft.   Best thing, the turning radius.  It will make a
U-turn on a three lane road (that is, from the turn lane going North, across
three Southbound lanes without getting close to the curb.)
More as we learn more.  One thing, I have always had Cummins engines,
this one is a Cat!  Time will tell if *Growl* beats *Rattle!*   LOL

Do you believe we STILL have no appointment!  Go figure, I never thought a
*Salesman* would lie!   LOL
But, we have decided to keep the couch and not put in a desk at this
time.  We still have a LOT of planning, Marie has about finished finding
holes to put "stuff" into, and we have empty drawers, and cabinets.  Sure
looked smaller than the Mtn. Aire, but not so.  More deceptive sights
brought on by superior design and workmanship.

Newmar is fine, but CC  has a pretty good magazine, plus an on-line
forum with lots of FAQs and answers.

Since I don't want to offend Janet, I won't say anything about the CC
owners club: she'll just have to console herself by joining FMCA.

I already joined Allegro Owners. I wanted to keep CoachNet and didn't
want to do it through FMCA <g> so I went with Allegro Owners. Got
CoachNet through Newmar but then didn't have a Newmar any more. IMO
there isn't any other road service out there that compares.

Newmar isn't what it used to be. Virgil Miller is probably spinning in
his grave. JMHO

One of Miller's sons has been elevated to CEO. Things may get better.

...er... Not exactly, Lon ... when I called to let them know I had purchased
another new coach, but NOT from Newmar, I talked to two of the folks there I
had dealt with over the years and who had become friends.  Miller is
"President" read "Front Man!" while Parks holds the behind scenes title of
CEO (Chief Ex. Officer!)  looks like the old "If you can't blind 'em with
Brilliance, Baffle 'em with Bullshit" ploy to shut up the rank and file
Newmar owners.   JMO

For Kevin, Hunter, & anyone else who might be interested.
I live in Ajo, Arizona, full time. This is a rural area and the desert
starts as you leave town.
I am retired now and have been RV'n since 1974.
I have had one (1) TT, two (2) 5'rs, two (2) Class "C"'s, & two (2)
Class "A"'s.
My current rig is a 2002 Sourhwind 32' Class "A". Due to the current
gas prices we are going to limit it's use to longer trips (such as our
trip to GA in two weeks.
For the some what shorter trips I have on order a Teardrop Trailer on
order from So-Cal Teardrops in Ontario, CA. I expect it to be ready by
7/31. I will be towing it with a 2004 Jeep Wrangler. With this set-up
we will be able to do some boondocking along wiith some week end
trips.
I am still waiting to hear from other Teardrop owners.
We do not shoot people, we tie them up and leave them for the desert
critters to dine on. <VBG>

May I suggest a trip to the White Mtns. just North of Death Valley?  It is
at or around 12,000 ft, cool in summer, and home to the oldest living thing
on Earth ... the Bristlecone Pine.
       http://www.sonic.net/bristlecone/WhiteMts.html
There is a great road for 4x4s going up over the mtns. and coming back into
the main road North of the turnoff for the dry camp near the Visitors
Center.

Hi Dick, it wasn't required that you tell us anything, but it was nice
to get to know you a bit.

I couldn't resist the VP remark when I knew your name was "Dick" and
Kevin said you might shoot me....

Let us know how it goes with the teardrop.

Dick,
Sorry about "hi-jacking" your thread.  But, I did answer your question in
a back-handed way  :-)  if there are anymore questions about my coach, I'll
start a new thread.
Good Luck with the Teardrop!  They make a fine camper, light, easy
to pull, and comfortable to sleep in.  Cooking during a sandstorm or
flooding rain can be a Bitch, though!  LOL
