Hunter Hampton - 11 Jul 2008 03:50 GMT Hi Gang,
Well, I got a new Bedslide today for the truck.
It's wonderful... so much nicer than the old one....
It should be called Bedglide....
http://bedslide.com/
I loaded it up tonight, will hook up and hit the road in the morning....

BTW, don't forget to pack the dog food... <G>
Hunter Hampton - 11 Jul 2008 14:28 GMT >Have a safe, fun, and pleasant trip, Hunter.> Thanks... I had a brief moment of panic this morning when I couldn't find my telescoping ladder.... but it turned up. I thought there was another robbery.
>BTW, don't forget to pack the dog food... <G> Got a new 40# bag yesterday and added to the 20# I still had in the container....
The food they eat is hard to find, venison, so I'm hoping I'll be close to a town with a Petsmart or Petco when I'm starting to get low.

How do you think she wore out that bed slide and had to replace it with a heavy duty jobber? Hmmmm?

Actually, I was a bit hinky about feeding them Bambi but with Cooper's food allergies, and $1600.00 later, I was so thrilled to find something he could eat that I didn't much care hap it was.

Seems to be a trend. I've noticed, around here, in the pet supplies stores they're carrying a lot of "game" dog food: venison and bison being prominent.

The most common causes of food allergies are beef, chicken, dairy products, egg, gluten (particularly wheat).
The meat proteins least likely to cause problems are duck and rabbit (possibly venison), then fish and lamb.
Coop is allergic to lamb. That's what I was feeding my other dogs when I got him..... then I tried all kinds of fancy foods.... the venison worked.
If he starts to have problems, which he could, I'll switch him to duck or bunny.

The point of the slide is.... with the cap on my truck I can't access my stuff..... I'd have to climb in and out every time I needed something forward.
With the slide, I pull all my stuff out where I can reach it.
Since I have a TT my truck bed is my "basement"...

But I also got the impression you ruined the old slide by loading hay on it.
Maybe you need a little trailer. Something easier to resort to than the horse trailer.
When I started driving jeeps, 20 years ago, I gave up the truck. And immediately got me a 5X7 trailer for all the stuff I had been doing with the truck.
Bob, who has lots of trees to trim.

My 4x6 steel-body dump trailer (bought used in '84 for $135!) has eliminated whatever need I might otherwise have had for a pickup -- for almost no money at all.
A utility trailer is a wunnerful thang.

I wasn't suggesting that you abandon the slide. Nor that you take the little trailer traveling, while towing the Airstream. But it would be handy to have around the farm, to keep from having to load extra heavy stuff on the slide.
O well. nevermind.

To which I might add -- and you also wouldn't have to take all your "basement stuff" off the slide (and then reload it) so you could haul other stuff.

What if I was out and about and found a piece of furniture that I wanted... and I couldn't get it home.....
I already have 3 trailers at Patti's... I don't need another one.

Signature bill Theory don't mean squat if it don't work.
