I just had my fridge recalled.  They put a sort of shield around the burner
and maybe a sensor too.  While I realize that it was rather warm here in
Ohio this past weekend, it seemed to take far longer to cool down than I had
usually expected.  The unit was dead level as it gets.  I was wondering if
anybody else had a similar experience.

Do you have the model and serial number of your unit?  Many of us also
have Dometic fridges, so this would be of interest.

Elliot,

You can check for your fridge here...

Thanks. I was not clear that this was the same recall we kicked around
a while back. Mine is a one door model and is not on the list.

It's sort of the same recall.

When it was first posted my fridge wasn't on it.... but then they
added more models and mine was on it so don't assume yours isn't if
you only checked the first time.

They gave me a complete new cooling unit..  if you ran the fridge on
gas, it actually damaged the cooling unit..  on electric it was ok..

I don't know what they did to mine. They had it for about 1/2 hour and
said it was fixed.

I had mine done.  The 1st time I fired
up the fridge after that, the MH was on
my driveway tilting towards the street.
I had wood under the rear dualies and
the rear scissor levelers pushing up as
high as they could.  The unit was still not
completely level.  The fridge came up
very fast.  The next time I fired it up from
a warm start it took hours.  So, it
looks like, in my case, it varies from
time to
time .... or my feeble brain varies from
time to time in perception of passing
time.
BTW, I have found that when starting the
fridge from warm, it "seems" to start
faster from propane than from AC, but
reread my last sentence.

I have found that to be true also, Art..  on 100 degree+ days my ice
cream gets a bit soft on AC..  on propane it is rock hard....

Is "Ice Cream" the new code name for that now?
