Like I said, it's a well defined trail and a hike will worth the time if you

Thanks for the memories. I had to go dig out my pics from the same
hike several years ago.
Do they still have part of the lookout open to the public? Fantastic
views up there on a clear day.

The first floor of the Fire Lookout is glassed in, and open to the public.
There are steps that go up to an open air observation deck, and that is open
to the public. The top floor is the actual lookout and living space for the
ranger, and is closed to the public.

I don't know what that is, but it's not the lake. I don't know if you can
see it in the small image, but the lake is behind, or at the top of the
picture of Yellowstone Canyon, number 7.
