I came accross a hotel reservations web site which seems good for
making hotel reservations in the USA, it also gives access to many
lowest price guaranteed hotel reservations and seems very easy to use,
http://www.deskbell.com I was wondering if somebody has used this
hotel reservation service for hotels in the US and it worked all
right, who can answer?

I hear you get free spam with your meal there, is that true?

I tried it and when I went to the hotel, they had no reservation for me. I
complained to the manager and showed my printout from the web site and they
said that the web site never pays the money to the hotel, just keeps it for
themselves, so they do not honor those reservations.

I later learned that this has happened to hundreds of people. Avoid this
site at all costs.

(Hey, if you can invent stories about it, so can I)

Indeed and since the registrant of the site is
also posting from Italy a little suspicion is
definitely in order

You people are just way too cynical.

Hi

I am currently planning a Las Vegas visit from here in the UK and, out
of curiosity, visited <deskbell.com> to check on their "lowest price
guaranteed" claim.

Having also checked a few actual hotel websites, it appears that the
cost of booking through <deskbell.com> at their "lowest price
guaranteed" rate would be around $10 per night MORE than booking
directly with the hotel concerned.

Terribly sorry <deskbell.com>, but I think I will probably book
directly with the hotel - at least I know there is a reasonable chance
of the reservation being honoured - apart from saving myself some
money!!

Regards

Which is odd, considering that it's based in Italy.

Say... isn't that where you're from too?

Small world!

I have my travel agent does all my hotel booking for me.  She knows what
I like and my budget.  She has always obtained for me great deals at
prices much less than any Internet travel-bot.
