That's not my real question, but my real question was too long as a subject
line. My real question is: is there a commercial carrier that flies from
DFW or LUV to SAF?
Thanks

Not to my knowledge, the only aircraft operating out of
SAF are commuter planes, the nearest major aiport
is Albuquerque which is about an hours drive away
with Shuttle services and buses available into Santa Fe

Great Lakes Aviation flies into Santa Fe under code sharing with both
Frontier and United, I believe. Have no idea if there are any direct
flights from Dallas.
However, you shouldn't have any trouble getting a flight from Dallas
to Albuquerque. You could then rent a car or take a shuttle. It
takes about an hour to drive to Santa Fe.

Indeed, it looks as though Great Lakes is the latest airline to try and
make a go of it in Santa Fe, which suffers the blessing and curse of
being a medium-sized city within reasonable driving distance of a large
one. They fly to SAF from Denver and codeshare with Frontier and
United.

As others have pointed out, the alternative is to fly into ABQ, the
region's major airport, and either rent a car (it's a nice drive of
about an hour unless you hit the Albuquerque commute or somebody wipes
out on I-25) or take a shuttle bus. See for instance

and

As for the "Sunport" business, that's the longstanding official
nickname of Albuquerque International Airport (it goes back at least
as far as the early 70s), though one seldom hears anybody except city
officials and some reporters calling it that. Nice place as airports
go, actually.

It's a small town airport like every other small town airport in the country.
Great for private planes and not worth the trouble for anything else. You
can take a van ride and be in albuquerque in about the same time it'll take
to board, taxi around, take off, land, and taxi back. Being able to fly in
20 minutes vs. a 60 minute drive doesn't mean much when there's 45 minutes of
landing/takeoff overhead.

Santa Fe has a small plane airport that is served by United Express to
Denver only. Mostly used by government travelers that don't care about
costs.
Its much better and cheeper to fly into ABQ, which is served by lots of
carriers. Rent a car for a nice interstate drive of less than an hour,
or take one of several non-stop shuttle bus services.

I've flown in and out of SAF on Great Lakes Aviation a few times.
Flights connect in Denver to all points, and code share with Frontier
and United.
The airport is really charming - Sort of a two-story adobe structure.
Flying into SAF makes me feel like I'm starring in Casablanca.
