Depending on your travel dates, it appears that the cheaper
fares are likely to be found at...
Northwest (www.nwa.com),
United (www.united.com),
American (www.aa.com) or
Delta (www.delta.com).
But you may want to check a major reservation service, like
www.orbitz.com, www.travelocity.com, or www.expedia.com
for alternatives. =R=

ATA is currently advertising $68 (one way) between Minneapolis and
Chicago's Midway (MDW), but I've read that they'll stop serving
Minneapolis "soon".
AirTran says that starting in December, they will have $89 flights
(one way) between Minneapolis and Chicago.
Northwest Airlines has usually tried to match the prices of discount
carriers, but that's part of the reason they're bankrupt (but still
flying) at the moment.

NorthWest posts CyberSavers every Wednesday on it's website. I've
booked some Newark to Minneapolis round trips for very good fares.
Since Chicago is one of NWA's hubs CyberSavers for this route post
fairly frequently. :-)

Something else occurs to me for this and other short-range travel:
Does the airline on which you get back and forth from your home country
have some kind of business alliance with an airline that flies the US
domestic routes you need?
If so, you can weigh the cost of the domestic flights on various
airlines against the possibility of building up frequent-flyer miles in
the account that gives you the most benefit.
Cheers,
