Hi Everyone,

Please recommend a restaurant in D.C./VA area. I'm looking for a nice,
expensive one with private table/room option for two. European cuisine
is desired (French/Italian/...), but American would probably work as
well. I am going to propose in a month, but want to make reservations
well in advance.

Thanks a lot.

Go to the Washington Post's website and post the question in their
restaurant critic's (Tom Sietsema) weekly online chat.  He answers a lot of
those types of questions.

The one resturant that meets your request is the Inn at Little Washington.
Very expensive, fixed priced, better than excellent food, excellent service.
One of the top 5 resturants in the country.  One draw back would be
locations.  It is located in Washington, VA which about 1 1/2 hrs west of
DC.  IMHO you won't go wrong.

Thanks for your suggestion. But we've been to this restaurant before
and would like something new. Any ideas??
