Well, looking at my map there's a pretty big lake there, right off I-70
between routes 6 and 9, so I suppose there might indeed be a beach in
Frisco...

You don't have to go into the water when going to a beach.  Most people
don't.  Just take a walk up & down the shore or sit on a blanket in the
sun.  Besides, many people can get use to cold water & have a great
time in it.

If we're talking about San Francisco you'll definiteiy need a
blanket to sit in the sun. And a visual chck at the beaches there
indicates that very, very few people get used to the cold water.
The surfers all wear wet suits.

If you are talking about Ocean Beach between Lands End and the Zoo, the
water there is dangerous. There are a lot of riptides, and undertows. It
seems as if a tourist or two drowns each year along the beach. I know people
surf there, but my wife grew up along the beach, and the rule was not to go
in the water.

Besides, it's too damn cold.

Naw - if he's talking about Ocean Beach between Lands End and the Zoo in San
Francisco, he would have said "San Francisco".  He meant and said "Frisco"
without specifying whether he meant the one in Texas or the one in Colorado.
Clint, good ol' boy that he is, is prone to doing that....
Cool Whip - 20 Jan 2006 02:12 GMT
He could have meant:
Frisco, AL
Frisco, ID
Frisco, IL
Frisco, LA
Frisco, MO
Frisco, NC
Frisco, OK
Frisco, PA
Frisco, UT
Frisco, AK  or
Frisco, VA

I don't think so...their is only ONE Frisco(its in California, hon!)

Checked and re-checked my AAA map of California and damned if I can find
'Frisco' listed among the towns/cities.  What map of California are you
using, clint, such that you insist that there is a Frisco in California?  Or
are you smoking/ingesting something again?

Good beaches, hi livin',  but still cold water.

If you are just looking for beaches they're all fine. If you're
looking to actually get in the water, not so fine. But you really
need only go as far south along Hwy 1 as Pacifica/Linda Mar,
Montara, and Half Moon Bay. Since the air is still pretty cold at
all those places, you're not going to get the Baywatch effect,
anyway.

Go for it. But first you gotta tell us how long you intend to
stay in the water.
