I've never run into a more repressive bunch of right-wing nutbags
in my entire life.

Better watch what you post on their "travel" board, which features
such on-topic discussions as "Where were you on 9/11?" and "Do
you thank our troops on airplanes?", while any post which dares to
criticize or even question this kind of thinly-veiled propaganda is
immediately removed without any comment or explanation.

I guess it's a sign of the times I guess..  An utterly pussy-whipped
nation full of abysmally ignorant dittoheads and security soccer
moms, being led by President and White House which have made
political careers out of terror and fear for over four years.

Are you forced to go to that board against your will?

Has any one been on Frommers board? I haven't but I'm curious about
that one.

I spent a little time on the Fodors board just now, and most posters
there seem fine.

Yeah, sure they do.  But don't look in the basement.
That's where they keep the bodies.

Just for the record, I have found the Fodor discussion board very helpful.
And I (a left-leaner) can't remember anything political at all. But maybe
that was in some thread I didn't read.

It _is_ very helpful, which is why I haven't blown them off
completely.  My comment is directed toward the editors
(actually one editor in particular) of the website, not the
participants.  Believe me I'd much rather rant there about
the problem than here.

A dozen different threads in the past few months have been
nothing more than thinly veiled political propaganda..  E.g. "Do
you thank our troops on airplanes?", etc.  In fact there's one
running now: "Where were you when you heard about 911?"
Posts from those who complain about this nonsense, or even
dare to question its relevance to travel are pulled without any
explanation or comment.

This started a few months ago, when a certain cretin came
onboard Fodor's editing staff.  I know this guy, he's a raging
right-wing nutbag, and I knew he'd eventually turn Fodors
into his own political soapbox.  "HonestAbe" is his latest
sock puppet.

For months now there have been problems at Fodor's and many posters
with good information have either been banned or left on their own.
The whole tone of the place has changed.  Too bad, since it was a great
board.

And you are obviously a raging left-wing nutbag.

The more lunatic one is whether left or right, the more one whines and
complains about what the other side is doing that is just like the
complainer does.

Actually, there are more posts on Frommers.com talk, and all the states
have seperate folders. It's more informative and stays on travel
subjects.

Excuse me, but complaining about what's been going on at
Fodors -- namely an editor who's using a public travel board
as his own private political soapbox -- hardly qualifies as
whining, let alone lunacy.  The a.shole is using Random
House's corporate policy to advance his own political views,
and to squelch those who dare to question what he's doing.

BTW both Random House and Bertelsmann AG seem
interested in what I have to say.  Hopefully they will do
something about the problem.
