Thanks Brian,
The six days are for Yellowstone/Grand Tetons only not getting there etc.
I am budgeting 2 days each way for the drive to the National Parks from
Denver .
If you had a choice where would you have liked to have spent more time?
Thanks for the links, going to look there now.

I would bias the time you're spending in favor of Yellowstone.
Consider what you will see in YNP if you spend enough time:
Geysers: please see more than Old Faithful! It's easy to spend one
long day pursuing eruptions, and (if you're like me) one day won't be
enough! Each major geyser is distinct and you'll want to see
*several.* The best ones are a couple miles separated.
Wildlife: YNP has several locales where you might see moose, bison, and
(if you're lucky) bear. That will take a day.
Yellowstone Canyon: Two major waterfalls and scenic overlook walks will
occupy a day.
Travertine formations, hotsprings, mudpots -- just scattered everywhere
in the national park.
This park is USA's crown jewel - the first National Park anywhere in
the world. And it is that special!
I hope you'll enjoy and return soon

Thanks John,
I think we will go with your suggestion.
Four nights in Yellowstone.

I'd have to agree - err on the side of too much time in YNP. BUT - If you
are giving yourself 2 days to make the drive - head out of Denver drive up
Rt 36 to Estes Park CO. From there you can drive up into Rocky Mountain
N.P, but depending on how late in Sept you are going you may not be able to
go all the way up the Trail Ridge - the road closes sometime after Labor Day
(1st Monday in Sept) I think.
Then drive out of Estes Park on Rt 34 back to I-25 and you are one your way
north to the Tetons and Yellowstone. But as I mentioned - depending on how
late in Sept you are traveling, you could get hit with some early snow that
can slow you down some, particularly at the higher elevations.

Thanks very much,
I will keep that in mind, we may be able to do that. We will be arriving
Denver on the Labour day weekend however we have found we need at lest one
full day free to get over the long flight (18 hours including a 2 hour
transit through San Francisco) especially when we pick up a rental car and
are not used driving on the other side of the road.

I would have liked more time in both places actually. You seem to be
doing 4 in Yellowstone and 2 in the Tetons which is what I would have
done in that amount of time.

Hi Brian,
I know. Time is alway a problem.
However my wife wants a 1-2 weeks or so in London and the west of
England, and also 3-4 Days in Prague and another 3-4 days in Vienna.. I also
want to do some walking in Austria, so trying to fit it all under 6 weeks,
with a short stopover in Singapore to break the long flight home, makes it a
bit hard.
I am sure we will have a great time as we all ready have accomodation booked
in both Parks.
