I am moving from NY to Southern CA.  I want to make the most out of my
travel across the country.  What are some good sights to see?

You can start by deciding between the midwest and the south at the
beginning and then between the canadian & extreme northern US parks, the
middle mountain US parks or the southern US parks for the end.  Once you
make the basic decisions then come back for more suggestions.  Comparing
Baniff/Jasper to the Grand Canyon will just generate endless controversy.

What's your interests?  Someone who likes outdoor scenary may not want
to see Graceland.

If you haven't been west of the Mississippi, do your very best to visit the
Red Rock Country in southern Utah, northern New Mexico, northern Arizona,
etc. Nothing like it anywhere in the country...maybe nowhere in the world.
If you go on I-70 through Denver, jump off when you see signs for Moab and
take it from there. There are lots of national parks in the area, and when
you finally make it to I-15 and Las Vegas, you will be heading toward
southern California.

Good gawd! There're thousands of things t'see and do in this vast
land. What're your interests? How long're y'goin' t'be on The Road?
What time of year? The extent of your vaguity is extreme.

For examples, the Chicago Museum of Art requires at least two full
days; Yellowstone three. Getting from one to t'th'other is two days
and there you have a week.

If you're going from Lake Placid to San Diego, it's a day longer than
going from Manhattan to Riverside. The extent of your vaguity is extreme.

If "CA" means Canada, it's just up the road. You should be giving
advice to others. The extent of your vaguity is extreme.

Sign up for a AAA membership. In addition to emergency road side service
and tons of other services, AAA offers great trip planning services and
discounts off hotels and many museums and other tourist venues.

More information is needed. What route do you plan to take. What time of
you do you plan to make this trip? Are you under any time constraints?
What's your budget? What types of sites interest you?
