Anyone know if the CD palyers in Alamo hire cars in the States play MP3
CD's?

I don't know, but to play it safe you might want to burn CDs for your
trip that'll play in any standard CD player. If you're using iTunes,
for example, just set the iTunes Preferences to burn CDs in the "Audio
CD" format rather than the "MP3 CD" format.  (Go to Preferences >
Advanced > Burning).

All rental cars I've used had radios of the same sort you'd find in the
same model car you could buy in a dealer's showroom.

Assuming that Alamo operates this way, if you can find out what make and
model car you're getting, you could probably find out if factory CD
players play MP3s.
