What time of year, and is this on a weekend or Sun-Thurs? It makes a
difference.

In general terms, the southern part of Lake Tahoe is more developed
and the northern part isn't. So what type of ambience you want may
affect your choice.

Google is your friend, there are many search engines just for finding condos
in the Tahoe area. Try looking for "Tahoe condo rental" in google. I know
at least www.tahoecondorentals.com has a few in your range in September.

Are you coming from the NEvada side of Yosemite or the California side. If
from the Bishop area, probably the South shore of Tahoe as you can come over
88 or up to Carson city and over to the back side of Heavenly ski area.

We have stayed at a time share called The Ridge Tahoe, or something to
that effect. It is on the ridge near Heavenly. Very scenic. We did
not own a time share there or anywhere at the time we booked it
through Southwest(airlines) Vacations. We enjoyed the views from the
place. Some nice escorted hikes are available.
You might be able to get some nights there by contacting them
directly, although they might want to to sit through a sales
presentation. We never had to the way we booked it.
Good Luck.
