Drive north from Apple Valley on Hwy 77 and exit onto Old Shakopee Road
(Hwy1) thus avoiding I494/airport/major clusterleaf?

Mom wants to take Hwy 52/55 north and then west on I494?

Anyone have tips etc of Hwy 23 where it becomes Hwy 77, Hwy 77 where
I35E intersects, Hwy 77 entering the bridge, and Old Shakopee Rd (Hwy 1)
exit?

Also if you live in the area-the bookstore maps show Bloomington Ave
runs north from Old Shakopee Rd to American Blvd--continuous without
interruption. The internet maps, however, show that Bloomington Ave S
has a couple blocks gap in the middle, most likely due to a large
commercial plot?

Knowing exactly where you're coming from would help a lot, since 52 and 77
are nearly 10 miles apart at Apple Valley's latitude.

I am not concerned about route to the area since its all rural south of
there- just worried about that last approach into the mall area-I
remember nightmare driving on their freeways 30yrs ago and I bet it
hasn't improved.

I repeat: 52 and 77 are about 10 miles apart in the area you mention, so
the routes are in now way similar.

But, never mind.

Good luck.

i agree, the routes are in no way similar-pros and cons?

Now if someone was traveling in my area I might say take the airport
exit because the next exit is a nightmare, or i might tell someone to
get in the center lane before a certain exit or I might warn them that
they should not take a certain exit because of construction on the side
street or I tell people to ignore the obvious route and go to the next
exit after for a much smoother traffic flow?

I don't know where you're coming from or what maps you're looking at,
but MN 77 forms the western boundary of the megamall, with exits to the
mall directly from 77. You don't have to do any of the tap-dancing
you're talking about.
