In November 2007 I will have a trip to SF for a conference. I'm
thinking of taking the family and visiting any or all of the
areas--Yosemite, Sequoias, Death Valley.  What will mid/late November
be like?  I assume parts of Yosemite may already be closed.  What about
the other parks?  Will it be too cool to really enjoy any of this?

Mostly but not always rainy.
We held a conference in or near Yosemite for someting like 4 or 5 years
in early Nov. until we recently switched.  T-Meadows and Glacier point will be
closed usually.  Kings Canyon road will usually be closed.
You have to be prepared for snow and rain.  I've used that time of year
to recoup from things like knee surgery or dental work.  Probably the
fewest tourists excepting Thanksgiving.

Death Valley would be perfect.

Closures are highly dependent on local weather BUT you should
ensure you are carrying and know how to use snow chains
as an early storm can dump snow on you at any time.

Work on the assumption that you wont be able to get to Death Valley
over the Tioga Pass as its almost certain to be closed.

That said it will certainly be cold in Yosemite and Sequoia
but the absence of the summer crowds makes up for it
and its the ideal time of year of DV.

FYI, if you go to the Yahoo weather site and look up a city (or park),
and then click the "Records and Averages" link on that page, you'll
find typical weather for any month. For example, for Death Valley it
says the average high in November is 76 F; the average low is 47; great
weather for a visit.
