Ok, so I'm being a bit preemptive but I like to know what I'm getting
into if at all possible.  My mother-in-law has spent the last two
Christmases in Lamu and has decided, already, that she is going there

What's a photographic safari really like? That's what I wanted to know
before my first trip. After I returned from my third trip to Botswana

I will visit Morocco for a month during December and January on my own.
I wish to do a 2-3 days mountain hiking and 2-3 days desert safari. Are
there any recommendations where I can do these? I have little hiking
experience or equipment so I am looking for routes that are easy to

Trying to make the best use of time. Will be coming from Botswana into J'burg
airport and was planning on heading to Hazyview and to see Kruger. Now thinking
of renting a car. Arrival J'burg is at 3pm.

British and my wife-to-be, is American.
(1) Would you recommend egypt in general for honeymoons?  We are

Any useful info about Dire Dawa and Harrer, acommodation, transport from
Addis, railway? Is Jimma worth a visit? I'll have 5 weeks for travelling
from Addis in Jan/Feb 04, I know already many places in northern Ethiopia.
Who else will be in Ethiopia by that time? Travel companions?

Just checked out safaris in Tanzania and quite frankly am shocked at the
price gouging!  $175 for double occupancy for mid-range accomodation???  (On
safari not elsewhere).  Am I missing something?  It is cheaper in Japan!

This past October, I went on a 3 week trip to southern Africa. We
visited Kruger, the Klein Drakensberg, went caneoing down the Zambezi
River (Zimbabwe side), stayed at Musango camp on Lake Kariba, and
explored the Cape Town area for a few days.
