Why do most (perhaps all) airlines dim the cabin lighting during nighttime takeoffs? Seems to me, in the unlikely event of a crash, they would want as much light as possible for the passengers to see by while evacuating or to be seen by rescue

I'll be flying American Airlines from CVG to ORD. The flight is on an Embraer 140 (ERD whatever that means,) upon return, I will be flying on an Embraer 145 (ER4 whatever that means, again.) Does anyone know about these aircrafts? Which seats should I avoid?

All airlines suck because they won't let me travel for free or put my refrigerator in the overhead storage bin. Plus the stewardesses spend almost all their time helping other people instead of me and won't let me feel them up.
