Avoid EWR in Sept11 Sep 2003 03:46 GMT10
They are doing some works on one of the runways - it started on Thursday and
is causing minor chaos. I was booked on a 1 hour (ish) layover, luckily I
arrived early enough at BOS to get a stanby on an earlier flight and got a
seat, I also booked the penultimate EWR-LGW and got a ...

PASSPORT QUESTION10 Sep 2003 21:57 GMT16
Someone recently told me that the only way for a U.S. citizen to obtain a
passport is through the mail, as opposed to getting it in person. Also, it's
now necessary to submit your birth certificate at the time of application;
it'll be mailed back you you when you get your passport ...
Virgin Atlantic to LHR10 Sep 2003 20:42 GMT5
I am planning a trip to BRU in November.  I am looking at a good fare with a
Continental Code Share on Virgin Atlantic to LHR on the first and last legs.
This would be in the cheapest Economy.  How is the leg room/pitch compared
with Lufthansa or United?  Do they charge for beer or ...
UAL fares10 Sep 2003 20:00 GMT4
Last spring we purchased UAL tickets to London to be used in September.  The
price was over $1200 each.  Now I see the same flight offering seats at $500+.
How can we benefit from this substantial drop in prices?
Midwest saver service seats?10 Sep 2003 16:44 GMT2
Midwest Airlines   (nee glorious Midwest Express)  has launched "Saver
Service" (read: "back to sardine service") on a few of its routes.   I made
a booking, and was the only person so far to get a seat assignment.   The
computer put me in 10A both directions (the DC-9's have 2/3 ...

interpret the output from Galileo. Any help sites?
What does the following mean? (why the 7's after each class name?)
763 = aircraft type, C=?

Northwest's Detroit Terminal10 Sep 2003 13:36 GMT2
It's been quite a few years since I had occasion to fly through Detroit on
Northwest.  My recollection of past transits is of an unpleasant, crowded,
ugly and noisey terminal more appropriate for receiving Greyhound buses than
aircraft.  Wow, have things changed!  Northwest's new ...
Anybody going to pick up the STL-MCI service?10 Sep 2003 01:02 GMT4
In shrinking the STL hub effective November 1, 2003, AA is ending 27
nonstop routes. Included is the service connecting Missouri's two
largest cities -- Is any carrier planning to add this to their
services? The only alternatives to driving are probably the ailing

Mailing a SIM card from OZ to USA09 Sep 2003 08:49 GMT2
I am planning another trip to Australia in Jan 2004.  I made a lot
of  use of my GSM unlocked Motorola phone that I brought to OZ last
year.  My phone number and SIM chip has since expired.  I would like
to have my brother, who lives in CBR buy a prepaid mobile kit and plug
anyone work at YVR - why is AC 1118 always late departing09 Sep 2003 05:43 GMT6
On the 22nd I am scheduled on AC 1118 - YVR -YUL, and then 40 minutes later
on AC 884 - YUL - CDG. Each day I check the status of 1118, it usually
leaves Vancouver late. On two occasions, today included, passengers
connecting to 884 would have been out of luck, and stuck in Montreal ...
