Southwest and assigned seats22 Oct 2003 23:22 GMT4
Remember the comments a few weeks ago that Southwest was going to begin
assigning seats.  No says the management.  It's not even being
considered as a possibility.  So much for that set of prognosticators.

What happens to the bulkhead seats? (i.e no seat in front) are they still
fitted?

Best day to purchase airline tickets (i.e., the least expensive day)22 Oct 2003 19:46 GMT8
Hi. I'm new to this board. A few years ago I read that there is a best
day to purchase airline tickets, but I can't remember what day that
is. I think it's in the middle of the week (Wednesday, perhaps?). Can
any of you advise me about this? I'm in the United States. Thank you.

New Zealand22 Oct 2003 00:37 GMT1
just wondering if anyone had any good ideas as to cheap flights to NZ
for mid Jan 04 for four weeks ? Looking to fly in to Auckland, I've
seen a couple of deals for about £750, including going via LA or
stopping in Sydney.
Thanks BA (not)22 Oct 2003 00:27 GMT15

Guess I'll be trekking to LHR again (sob, sob)
Exit row seats on "Flying Skidoo"22 Oct 2003 00:15 GMT2
Wondering if exit row seats on an RJ (specifically an Atlantic
Southeast Canadair) offer more leg room than the regular seats?  I
have one booked in a couple of weeks, it will be my first experience
with the exit row on this particular aircraft.
Other Boeing news22 Oct 2003 00:10 GMT4
One of the flight testing 777-300ER made a trip from SEA-TPE earlier
this week.  No big deal normally but power was cut to one of the
GE90-115B engines (most powerful jet ever developed) so that the a/c
flew the remaining 5 1/2 hours to TPE on one engine.  ETOPS 330 anyone?
Buy tix after midnight?21 Oct 2003 22:28 GMT9
I've heard that buying airline tickets after midnight, when the
airlines update their inventory, can be a good way to get cheaper
tickets. Has anyone here tried this before? Has it worked? Thanks.
British Airways to abandon Birmingham21 Oct 2003 20:21 GMT5
A meeting was held on Friday between BHX and British Airways  at which it
was decided that BA are to run down their loss-making operations a BHX and
pull out completely by  winter 2005. It hasn't reached the press yet, but as
far as BHX is concerned, it's bye-bye BA.
