United officially announced the formation of Ted. The line will hub in DEN with destinations of LAS, PHX, MCO, TPA, FLL, and a couple other cities. This will replace all mainline UA service on those routes.

For the purpose of allocating frequent flyer miles, is the distance (in miles) between airports consistant between carriers? Assuming it is, is there a web site where I can punch up the distance between any 2 airports?

There apparently is an offer in this weekends daily and Sunday Telegraph. Buy a discounted United ticket to the USA (either coast) and get a free internal return flight for 1 GBP. Probably lots of conditions as usual - but may be of interest to someone.
