On a direct 2 hour evening flight from Spain to London, Britannia Airways
lost my bag. They offered no assistance at all in obtaining any necessary

They Aren't Kidding24 Dec 2003 17:51 GMT1
When they tell you to get to the airport 2-1/2 hours before departure for a

security checkpoint lines that looked more like the lines at Disneyland or
Universal Studios than the usual airport check-in lines.

Alarms sounding at Airbus24 Dec 2003 15:48 GMT9
The severe devaluation of the US dollar is starting to cause problems at
Airbus.  Airbus had made its business plans with the Euro rising to a maximum
of USD$1.20. It is now at $1.24
Airbus has announced that should the US dollar fall further, bringing the Euro
Fare drops UAL won't credit24 Dec 2003 14:34 GMT23
I booked a flight on United Saturday afternoon for 262.50 Orlando-Reno now
I see that the same flight is $223.50 so I called UAL and told them about it
and since it has been 25 hours 16 minutes since I booked they can not credit

buddypasses24 Dec 2003 13:32 GMT1
Hi, I have several friends who work for the airlines, and have used
buddy passes frequently. It is true that they can not be sold, and
there is a dress code. Also sometimes you can be deplaned, and bumped
off a flight at a stopover, like I was in Chicago on my way back from
Boeing to launch 7E7 today (tuesday)24 Dec 2003 10:16 GMT20
BBC reports that Boeing is expected to formally launch the 7E7 today. (their
exact wording I think was "start production".
For the A380, Airbus gave the authority to offer once they felt enough
airlines were interested, and then officially launched the beast once they had

Travelocity etc doing a poor job finding flights24 Dec 2003 01:53 GMT23
I haven't been able to find good rates on Travelocity for a while now. I
was wondering if anyone else has found this to be true too. Even ITA
Software seems to be lagging behind what I can cobble together on my
own, using Travelocity to pick flights.
What's an International Airport?24 Dec 2003 01:42 GMT10
While look something else up, I noticed that BAA claim Gatwick is the
world's sixth busiest International Airport.
I think Atlanta and Chicago tie for busiest, then Heathrow. But Dallas,
Los Angeles, San Francisco, JFK, Schipol, Tokyo, Frankfurt and several
Need to declare prescription meds?23 Dec 2003 21:27 GMT2
I have been asked to bring some prescription medication for an
American friend who is staying Costa Rica for several weeks.
Should I expect a hassle with customs security at the airport when I
depart the USA or at the Costa Rican airport when I arrive?  Do I need
