BA Flight 223 Cancellation06 Jan 2004 00:42 GMT22
I agree with the current cancellation of flights due to security concerns.
However, does it worry anyone that the terrorists could use this as a tactic
for future economic warfare against the West?  Could it be possible to keep
making constant threats to commercial aviation without ...
Air marshalls on UK planes05 Jan 2004 23:31 GMT10

Personally I think this is a bad idea, I would rather see more security on
the ground if more security is really necessary, I'm really not sure what a
terrorist would try and do on-board now that we have locked flight deck
Veggie food on Lufthansa05 Jan 2004 23:18 GMT6

veggie meal preference is to be intimated before the flight or will i get an
option on the flight ? Too lazy to call up the customer service lines.
Blood Clots on long flights- common?05 Jan 2004 23:13 GMT11
I ended up having deep vein thrombosis from my flight back home from
Thailand.  At least that was a large part of it. That virus I got hit
with forced me to just sleep all day every day for 5 days prior to my
flight.  Not good.  Then I was so weak and tired I never (rarely) got
No passport checks on United?05 Jan 2004 23:06 GMT32
How many airlines aren't checking passports at the gates on
International flights? The other day I flew Chicago to London on
United and there was no passport check whatsoever at the gate. This
affectively means that the airline cannot account for every passenger
Flights cancelled because of BA Pilots05 Jan 2004 18:36 GMT12
Latest news here is that the flights to DC are being
cancelled because BA pilots won't fly with armed
air marshals. Enter the Ninjas or BA might be barred from US.

Personal air purifier q05 Jan 2004 17:19 GMT3
Skymall has a small ionizer to hang around your  neck
and supposedly purify the air you breath.
Does this device have any actual value?
Low Cost into Geneva (or Lyon)05 Jan 2004 16:21 GMT3
I'm hoping to go for a long weekend skiing later this month, and need to get
a good deal from Luton, Stansted or East Midlands (mebbes Birmingham I
s'pose) to go into either Geneva or Lyon. Only really interested in direct
flights, as time will be of the essence.
Car hire at Newcastle airport05 Jan 2004 15:45 GMT1
Anyone any experience of what the deal is with the car hire at Newcastle
airport? I normally rent from Newcastle city centre branches but my schedule
for the week means they would be closed by the time I got there.
I know where the desks (specifically National) are in the terminal ...
choosing a Star Alliance mileage program05 Jan 2004 14:27 GMT3
If I have very frequent flyer status on one Star Alliance partner, and I
am flying on another, do I have the same privileges on all?  For
example, if I want to upgrade do I get the same priority, and with the
same lead time?  Can I book seats with extended leg room?  If I'm
Car Rental at Heathrow SUCKS!05 Jan 2004 13:24 GMT47
Why is there such a terrible disconnect between
car rentals in the US vs those in the UK?
There seems to be a complete failure in efficiency
and service levels. The prices are way up on what
Noise cancelling headphones q05 Jan 2004 11:56 GMT4
I have headphones bought a few years ago, which i wear
on flights (with or without plugging them into a music
machine), but they are physically uncomfortable on the
ears, so I want to replace them.
English language-Airlines05 Jan 2004 11:55 GMT61
When, say, Iberia flys a totally within Spain flight do the pilot and tower

Different seats for different people05 Jan 2004 09:02 GMT9
Here is an idea that seems logical and fare.
On a plane, there must be a certain number of oversized seats for larger
people, for which the airline maybe would charge a higher price; and a
certain number of smaller seats for skinny people for which airline maybe
