Before I call or email United, I wonder if anyone on here knows how far in advance I can book a Star Alliance award ticket (flying SQ and TG) with United Mileage Plus points? Is it the usual 330 days that most airlines allow for normal bookings?

Does anybody here seriously book their tickets online ? I have searched almost all biggie online booking sites and found their price at least 100 pounds more than that quoted by a local travel agent for the same flight. This just beats me. Isnt it supposed to be the other way around ...
