WASHINGTON (AP) -- In a rush to hire workers, the  
Transportation Security Administration put thousands of screeners at
the nation's airports without required background checks, the
Homeland Security Department's inspector general said Friday.

Those damned pesky planes are coming back. It is interesting that Jetsgo is
going after worthless discontinued planes (MD88 and now the pesky Fokker 100s)
while Westjet is ditching its old 727-200s and going for new 737s. On the
other hand, Westjet has had to pull out of some routes ...

Anyone know if (hypothetically speaking here, of course...:-) one were to
book some return flights on BA Domestic  flights A to B and B to A,  then
used outbound A-B, Outbound B-A, Return A-B, Return B-A, would I be likely
to encounter any problems?

I have read that maybe NW would be interested in setting something up
at PHL. Has anybody else heard this??

  With the bird flu, I am wondering if it is safe to transit Thailand when
I return to Australia, next week, from Europe. I am schedule to stop over
for a few hours in Bangkok. Should I be concerned about catching this new
bird flu when going via Bangkok?

Delta announced that it is putting a stop to explansion of its attempt at a
low cost unit (Song). It it going to review all its operations to try to
reduce costs by June.
