I'm looking for a decent, safe motel/hotel not to far from LAX for one
night.  Will be arriving in afternoon during June prior to a driving trip
throughout Southern California.  Shuttles not required as will have a rental
car.  We're traveling with our 20 month granddaughter and ...
British Air - Parsimony, Evasiveness, and Fibs.30 Apr 2004 21:34 GMT131
BA is reported to be flirting with bankruptcy -- if my experience is an

(WAS or NYC) --> Bombay VIA (Frankfurt or Amsterdam)30 Apr 2004 19:24 GMT1
I'm trying to fly to Bombay from the east coast, but spend a couple of weeks
in Europe on the way.
I know nothing about online consolidators, and the many websites I have been
to have been filled with popups and cookies, so I'm not sure about trusting
Question re Virgin Atlantic30 Apr 2004 16:57 GMT3
I'm booked on VS 22/VS 21 IAD-LHR-IAD during May in "Premium Economy" on an
Airbus A320.  They've got me in 20H.  From the seat map, it looks like a
decent seat, and I've heard good things about Virgin, although I've not
flown them yet.  Has anybody out there flown VS' Premium ...
MIA 747 Altitude Question30 Apr 2004 10:54 GMT2
I spend a lot of time in Hollywood, Florida and looking over the ocean I
often see a 747 descending into the MIA traffic pattern. Their size is very
evident even at the distance from me. I was wondering if anyone knew exactly
how far offshore and what is the altitude of a jet coming ...

Are the skies more turbulent than they used to be.29 Apr 2004 20:11 GMT20
During my early experiences as a regular passenger on commerical
airlines, in the early 1970's, it seemed that once you took off and
flew through the near-surface clouds, the flight was usually very
smooth, the air was clear, and the sky bright blue (during the
Air Luxor - Experiences?29 Apr 2004 19:49 GMT3
Further to my problems with a single from London to Lisbon, it has been
suggested that I book a single with Air Luxor which will cost about £60 inc

could share?

Sometimes, the travel gods are smiling....29 Apr 2004 14:56 GMT1
My parents are flying to Dubai today for a short break. They opted to go for
the cheaper option with a 3 hour layover in Milan on Alitalia.
Alitalia are on strike today.
So they've been put on the direct Emirates flight instead :)
