Flying car more economical than SUV

So, I tend to keep a fairly close eye on happenings in the world of
aviation, for both personal and professional reasons.
But, for whatever reason, the media in general has made less fanfare
about something that happened last Thursday than about, say, Boeing's

I have seen quite a few single cell li-poly mobile phone batterries for sale
on ebay at very good prices. Is it feasable to strip off the plastic and
solder them together to make a cheap Li-poly batttery pack?

have one of those convenient AA flights that lands at JFk and the
connector is out of LaG -- the web site indicates that a cab is about
20$ -- has anyone done this and is this accurate.  We will be coming in
on a Sunday.  The shuttle bus is 11$ a head so obviously for two a cab
