The 2000 Concorde crash and that titanium Continental part29 Aug 2004 06:39 GMT37
News coming from apparently the French investigation appear to point out
that the Continental DC10 part that damaged some of the Concorde tires,
pieces of which perforated the fuel tanks, were made of titanium instead
of the original softer material.

BAA needs real regulation28 Aug 2004 22:30 GMT5
Heathrow has become the worst managed international airport I have had
the misfortune to use. BAA makes more money from shopping and parking
that it does from flying and seems content to create huge delays in
order to maximize revenue from it's monopolistic parking and retail
Qantas bastards28 Aug 2004 17:14 GMT25
Qantas' current ads are the most expensive tv ads possible to make. They
are up to 2-3 minutes long (considering the cost of advertising, that is
long), feature a large cast and are set in multiple countries. I can't
imagine the cost of this advertising campaign.
Anyone used APH parking at BHX?28 Aug 2004 11:07 GMT5
They seem one of the cheapest at around £3/day (booking in advance). Have
used their MAN parking and was OK, and wonder what their Brum counterpart is
like. How long is the transfer (from Colehill I believe)? Pick you up
promptly from airport?

I'm currently living in Notts and need to get an urgent issue Irish passport
for a relative. Do I have to go to their Embassy passport office in London,
or is there one closer, perhaps in the Midlands? Couldn't find anything on
their website.

"Air marshals cover only a few flights"28 Aug 2004 01:54 GMT21
Air marshals cover only a few flights
Federal air marshals protect less than 5 percent of daily U.S.
flights, and the numbers are declining, despite assurances by the
federal government that most planes would be protected, according to

that Concorde no longer flies... is this right?
