I'm trying to sort out a trip from Vancouver to Duino (near Trieste). It would seem impossible to fly to Trieste airport in fewer than three hops (unless I transfer from Heathrow to the Ryanair flight from Stansted). An alternative would be to fly into Venice.

There are rumours going around that American is set to retire their MD-80 fleet by the end of this year, replaced with the more roomier and efficient 737-800 series. I was surprised to hear that American was still flying MD-80's. I know they got rid of all their DC-10's back in

Do you have to confirm a flight with United (domestic)? I went to the website and there was no mention of it. We don't have to do it in Australia any more, but I was just wondering. I booked this ages ago, in December. Now I'm heading home...don't want to turn up at the airport ...
