Virgin Atlantic14 May 2005 08:01 GMT82
Just had an e-mail from Virgin. They will be closing check-in counters 60
minutes before take-off, but don't say when it starts !!
Here's the e-mail in full :-
Dear Mr Smith,
Travelling by air14 May 2005 04:00 GMT163
Feel a bit worried about travelling to certain countries since the case of
Miss Corby in whose luggage drugs were found. She of course denies anything
to do with it, and I believe her.  It would be a horrible shock to be told
there were drugs in your case!!
Ms Corby in Indonesea14 May 2005 01:10 GMT2
As far as I know, today is the last day of Schapelle Corby's trial before
the judges retire to consider their verdict over the finding of drugs in her
bodyboard bag. I'm sure we are all thinking of her. Baggage handlers are all
in the news here- very worrying.   Also, poor Mr.Wood ...
The Amazing Race13 May 2005 16:56 GMT6
With contestants of the tv show The Amazing Race transiting through
airports around the world, I am wondering if anyone has seen them and
noted who was still in the running for the prize.  I can remember that
one scene in a recent season took place at DEN, and it is hard to
Manchester search13 May 2005 14:35 GMT1
At Manchester airport bound for Atlanta/Las with Delta recently
We cleared customs no problem, waiting to board the aircraft we  missed our
row being called,so we among the last to proceed to boarding, after our
tickets were taken,we went  through the doors and  at the top of the ...
TED12 May 2005 22:41 GMT1
Howdy,
I lurk here occasionally and was just curious about TED. Has TED worked out
at all for UA or was it just another bad idea?
I fly a lot and I've noticed TED and UA flights are interchangeable.
TLV  to EZE12 May 2005 22:31 GMT2
I am planning to fly this route this july and I am looking for the best
fare.
I am looking for a ticket with the longest maximum stay available (i.e
a year).
Easyjet and GPS...12 May 2005 22:26 GMT34
I wrote to Easyjet asking if the use of GPS devices was permitted on board
their aircraft. Follows is their reply, unedited.

Flying home after UA fails12 May 2005 18:47 GMT2
By my inexpert reading of the Department of Transportation's letter
of 11/2002 at  http://airconsumer.ost.dot.gov/rules/20030123.doc
I believe that the DOT would like the airlines to transport passengers
after UA's upcoming liquidation for a $25 reticketing fee.  However,
Best 'L' transfer: ORD-MDW12 May 2005 15:10 GMT1
I know I can take the blue line to the orange line to go from ORD
to MDW, but which is the best station to transfer from a laziness
point of view, i.e. which station has the easiest transfer with luggage?
I need to buy a $1.75 fare plus a $0.25 transfer fare, right?

something once they get there, like a courier!

Praise for United staff12 May 2005 05:42 GMT1
I have been greatly impressed with the friendly, helpful and
profesional performances of United staff over the last few weeks and
especially today. I cannot praise them highly enough. They are a credit
to their airline.
Best rental car company in the U.S.?12 May 2005 03:30 GMT14
I'm not sure I'm posting on the correct newsgroup. Which car rental
company is considered the best in the U.S.? I remember seeing an
article rating car rental companies a few years ago, but I can't
remember how they rated them, and the ratings have probably changed by
Shoes12 May 2005 03:22 GMT89
What is it with shoes?  The TSA site states that removing shoes is not
necessary.  Yet at EWR, RDU, and DAB it is required.  Speaking with my
fellow passengers it is now a mandatory requirement at all airports.
