BA WTP vs Virgin Premium economy - Opinions?17 Sep 2005 09:19 GMT9
I'm planning to fly longhaul near the end of the month and I have the
choice of using BA World Traveller Plus or Virgin Premium economy. I'm
around 6'6" so standard economy is not really an option as it is an 8.5
hour flight :(

All you people want to do is complain and cause problems........lighten

Could airlines merge?16 Sep 2005 19:27 GMT4
Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines entered bankruptcy court
together this week, and few will be surprised if they emerge together
- as a single combined carrier.

"Open jaws" route possible with award travel?16 Sep 2005 18:33 GMT7
No, nothing to do with scary movies about sharks.
I'm wondering if it's possible to use FF miles for an "open jaws" award
travel ticket: fly in to one city (say, NY to London), and return
flying out of a different city (say, Paris back to NY).
Earning Miles with credit card -- worth it???16 Sep 2005 18:09 GMT24
I travel maybe once or twice a year, and after looking at several
credit cards that offer miles based on purchases, I noticed most only
offer points/miles if you purchase from certain places, mostly hotels,
car rentals, airlines, etc.  Is there a credit card that lets someone
Dubai security - are there worst places?16 Sep 2005 16:56 GMT11
Transit passengers have to go through Dubai security checks when
getting off their flights.
The Dubai staff are rude, the equipment over-sensitive.  People taking
belts off, shoes off.  Stuff falling off the end of the conveyor.  My
Why Doesn't AA Declare Chapt 11?16 Sep 2005 15:27 GMT4
The title says it all.  If all their "major" competitors rae operating
with the advantages of Chapt 11, why doesn't AA go that route?   Can't
their accountants fiddle the books enough to get them a quick in and
out Chapt 11 and renegotiate various contracts in the process?
Flight search - charter airlines to the U.S.16 Sep 2005 12:33 GMT1
I have always used Cheapestflights.co.uk as a starting point for searching
for flights to Florida. Unfortunately they have now changed the site and it
doesn't seem to offer the "+ or - 7 days" option which was really useful to
find the best deal when your plans are flexible.

How do travel agents work?15 Sep 2005 22:12 GMT3
Specifically, how do they get paid?  Do you pay them a
finder's fee to get you the best deal on plane tickets and/or a trip
somewhere, or do they take a percentage of what you pay for the
tickets and/or trip?
Why 330 day advance limit?15 Sep 2005 20:23 GMT10
Many (all?) airlines have a limit of 330 days on making reservations
in advance.  Does anyone here know why 330 days was chosen?
Was it originally some hexadecimal limitation that was carried over?

Ambien15 Sep 2005 17:56 GMT10
I fly very often and have not been able to get a quality sleep time.  Heard
about this pill Ambien cropping up frequently in forums and usenet and its
effectiveness to make you fall asleep faster and longer.  When I check the
online pharmarcies that offered this drug, I could not ...

some volunteer work.
