LGA or JFK - Metro?25 Feb 2006 19:41 GMT3
I'm planning a trip to New York. Considering the airfares i'd rather arrive
at LGA than JFK, that saves us a lot of money. The thing is, is there a
metro station near LGA? Of course I don't want to spend my savings on a cab
to finally come to the city... That wouldn't make sense.
Tampa FL Motels25 Feb 2006 15:42 GMT6
Is anyone familiar with Tampa??  We need a hotel for one night.  Our
flight into Tampa is too late for connection to Houston, TX.  We need
pickup at the airport, stay one night and then shuttle to airport again
the next day if possible.  Any suggestions?  Thanks....

Best NCT headphones for travel?25 Feb 2006 04:33 GMT3
I have an old, first generation, set of noise canceling headphones I
use for air travel. They
work ok, but are less effective on certain airplanes and in certain
seats. I am assuming
New Year Calls to Taiwan24 Feb 2006 21:23 GMT5
I just wanted to share something. A friend told me about a long-distance
service that has great phone rates to and from Taiwan, www.onesuite.com.
I plan on calling my parents since this year will be the first that I
can't go back home for New Year. I am trying to save money so ...
Spain or Northern Ireland?24 Feb 2006 11:15 GMT6
A strange choice I know but heres my situation. After 1 week of
fulfilling familial obligations and one week on a rented narrowboat, my
wife and I have 5-6 days left before we have to return to Canada. We
were wondering if it would be feasible to either "nip" over to Northern
What Holiday Inn don't tell you about their hotel/parking package24 Feb 2006 11:10 GMT13
The parking isn't on the hotel site!
This is at Stansted.... You check into the hotel after a gruelling trip
to the airport only to be told to take your car to the mid-stay carpark
and wait for a bus back (from the entrance, not the distant parking lot
FA: Auctioning flight tickets from anywhere to anywhere, in any class24 Feb 2006 00:48 GMT6
I have enough KLM air miles to book return flights from just about any
location in the world to any other location operated by KLM or its
partners (the main partners being Northwest Airlines and Air France).
Here are just some examples of what I can offer (these are all

Loopholes for ticket transfer?23 Feb 2006 22:27 GMT12
Someone is offering me their round trip ticket to Hawaii on Wednesday
2/22/06, but the airlines say they can't change the ticket from her
name to mine.
Does anyone know any way around this? I understand security and all,
mrtravel in Washington again23 Feb 2006 21:10 GMT1
I see mrpsycho is in Seattle again, giving his toilet cleaning career at SEA-TAC
a third go after getting fired the first two times around.
Here's some helpful hints to help you out, mrpedo:

Overhead carry-on management23 Feb 2006 21:07 GMT7
Trying to think of innovative overhead carry-on management techniques
that would motivate passengers to check their luggage or use under-seat
storage, despite obvious advantages associated of using carry-ons, while
also being simple, efficient, effective, and economical,
Airline meals23 Feb 2006 17:25 GMT13
I will be flying from Newark NJ on Feb25th to Hawaii on Continental
Airlines. I leave Newark at 1:20 pm and arrive in Honolulu at 7:15. Can
someone tell me if I will get a meal on the plane and if so what kind do
they serve.
Transatlantic flights23 Feb 2006 17:07 GMT6
Who has cheap airfares from the US to Europe (or vice-versa), particularly
the UK? I believe Virgin Atlantic would be among the cheapest. Is it cheaper
to fly east-west or west-east or is there virtually no difference?
Many thanks, all.
For people travelling from Heathrow23 Feb 2006 11:39 GMT53
I found this on the BA web site. Certainly at times last week it was chaos, in
every terminal, and I can't see things improving in the short term.
BAA Heathrow has introduced new security procedures following a recent
security review. These are leading to delays through central ...
