Strange experience13 Jun 2006 02:20 GMT3
We had a really strange (to me) experience on a flight into ORD last
weekend.  We boarded our CRJ on time and pushed back a few minutes early for
a short hop to ORD.  Taxied out to the runway and sat there.  And sat there!
Pilot came on the intercom and said there'd be a short ...
PDX security checkpoint express lane12 Jun 2006 19:58 GMT3
Portland, OR (PDX) airport has an express lane security checkpoint.
To use it, you show a frequent flyer card.  An ordinary Southwest
Rapid Rewards card lets you in.  Since everyone can sign up for
Southwest Rapid Rewards, wouldn't everyone be able to use the express

Prices for tickets in November12 Jun 2006 17:41 GMT8
I want to book a flight from LAX to DCA for a round trip that is
essentially the Friday-Monday before Thanksgiving.  Should I expect
prices to stay stable from until then, expect them to go way up or have
a decent chance of getting a cheaper seat as the date approaches?  My

Excess Weight Charges on International Flights11 Jun 2006 13:30 GMT2
My wife and I will be traveling to  Bangkok from Los Angeles in a few

pound or kilo for excess weight above that allowed for the class of travel.
Most don't advertise their excess weight charges and want ...
DELTA SKY MILES11 Jun 2006 03:51 GMT10
I have made several searches for miles involving 8 different places,
dates etc and 98% of the time you need 50K miles for a free ticket.
What a rip off, what good are they.  I even searched boston to atlanta,
their hub, should be plenty of seats, no luck.  The best thing to do

'Pilot caught in Manchester mix-up
A trainee pilot who thought he had booked a flight from Los Angeles back
home to England ended up 3,000 miles adrift in the wrong Manchester.
Can Anyone Explain This?10 Jun 2006 21:48 GMT2
For a recent America Worst flight to Houston, I used the online
check-in feature of the airline's web site. It insisted on printing
the boarding passes of everyone in my "party," which consisted of
myself and my co-worker (i.e. not a family member or anything like

I was checking fares and found I can get Edmonton-Campbell River BC
return tickets for about $400 all in.  Air Canada is willing to sell me
a 10 trip pack for about $300 each trip or about $600 plus taxes and
charges for a round trip.
Moving back to Italy - taking my stuff with me on the plane10 Jun 2006 14:56 GMT8
I am moving back to Italy in the beginning of July after 3 years in the
US.
I was planning on shipping most of my stuff (clothes, books, etc.). I
will probably have 3 or 4 big boxes.
