No bottled water allowed on planes.01 Sep 2006 00:50 GMT46
It's really annoying to not be able to bring a bottle of water on board.
The beverage service is very slow, and the airlines are very stingy with
their beverages. As I understand it, even if you buy some water in the
secure area, you can't bring it onto the plane.

US Immigration - bad attitudes31 Aug 2006 16:05 GMT37
Visited the US many times and have come across some really bad US
Immigration officials. Planning to visit in a few weeks, and with the
additional security issues, expect them to be much worse.
Its not that I object to the extra security but its their attitude. You
Beijing or Hong Kong?31 Aug 2006 15:55 GMT49
As I explain in another post, I may have to choose between taking a
stop in Beijing or doing so in Hong Kong, although I had hoped to do
both.  No flames please, but I would appreciate opinions on which would
make a better stop for 3-5 days?

All have to suffer because governments can't say "Muslim"?30 Aug 2006 23:43 GMT66
We all know where the present threat to aviation is coming from.
Clue: it is not Japanese businessmen, Mormom couples, or Hindu
grandmothers.
Then why are all of them, all of us, being inconvenienced? Because the
carry on baggage--size restrictions30 Aug 2006 16:25 GMT15

Until now, I havenever carried on a piece of luggage.  I need to carry
on a bag this time.  My samsonite is 22" long.  The wheels on the bottom
add another inch to the total.  The width and height are ok.  Do you
From the viewpoint of a Canadian Screening Officer.30 Aug 2006 13:21 GMT7
Securing any airport is nearly impossible. Not only do you have the
passengers to deal with, but those who work on the apron are not
screened regularly. Right now, CATSA and the TSA have what's called
non-passenger screening, which is a fancy term for random searches on

Multiple Frequent Flier accounts OK or not?30 Aug 2006 07:07 GMT7
Is it possible for one person to have multiple frequent flier accounts
at the same airline? Is it "legal" at major airlines?

Airport lounges30 Aug 2006 05:41 GMT5
If you are a life-member, or just an annual member for that matter...
Can you use a lounge whenever you are in the airport or do you have to
flying that particular airline?
What about their partner airlines' lounges?
