LHR situation: Sunday 13/814 Aug 2006 10:20 GMT11
So, with wonderful timing, my son (age 3) is travelling ex LHR tomorrow with
his aunt on BD (to a domestic destination).
As the BAA Heathrow site states that 1/3 of Sunday's flights are going to
get yanked, I am concerned that this will affect the flight they are booked
Recomendations for mainland-Hawai`i equipment...14 Aug 2006 05:01 GMT1
Looking to head to KOA next June/July.  I have no issue with leaving
from either OMA, MCI, ORD, MSP or STL.
My first choice would be AA via DFW, but that's slightly pricier than
NW.

Buying ticket at the counter in Europe?14 Aug 2006 03:25 GMT2
I've read that buying ticket at the counter in US doesn't make sence,
while in some other parts of the world it does. What about Europe?
Here is a little twist. My wife already have a ticket  ... -> Milan ->
London -> San Francisco, but would like to reroute her flight in Milan
Too bad for Easyjet and Ryanair14 Aug 2006 00:16 GMT75
Easyjet and Ryanair were recently attempting to entirely eliminate free
checked baggage on their planes.  Now all of their planes leaving the
UK will have nothing but checked baggage.  Too bad, so sad.

Screening-Out Sabouteurs By Questioning13 Aug 2006 22:51 GMT14
The screener is (apparently) not allowed to forthrightly ask the
ticketed passenger: "Are you for jihad against the United States etal?"
and/or: "Do you intend to commit saboutage of your airplane?"
Well, the person with such a holding or intention would of course lie.
Gatwick: typical delay through security check?13 Aug 2006 22:23 GMT2
Anyone have an idea of typical time from coming into the airport to getting
through to airside?
My family are travelling tomorrow at 5.50am (hopefully!) and we were
wondering how early to leave for the airport.
easyjet 15 days notice of flight cancellation13 Aug 2006 20:59 GMT2
A pal of mine booked months ago to fly easyjet from Bristol to Newcastle
on 22 August.  He's now received an e-mail dated 7 August from easyjet
saying that the flight is cancelled and they will refund or re-route -
there is no realistic re-route possibility.
Am I missing something here?13 Aug 2006 17:30 GMT2
I flew out to Latvia on Monday (before the current crisis) and returned
yesterday, carrying on only hand luggage both ways. Most people at Riga
airport seemed to think the restrictions applied both ways, which meant
the overhead lockers on my flight last night were unusually ...
Transfer within Heathrow Terminal 413 Aug 2006 16:39 GMT13
I've a plane arriving at 15.20 in Terminal 4 from France and my
connection flight leaves at 17.40 for Montreal (Canada). On the British
Airways website, the minimum connection time is about one hour.
I'd like to know if this minimum time is realistic and if the recent
Background Checks13 Aug 2006 15:00 GMT2
I've been thinking about this for a while, and frankly I can't see another
solution.  I'm betting that the government is going to implement a program
of background checks before you can fly.
There's no defense against someone willing to kill themselves in the
Best site for online booking of air tickets in India?13 Aug 2006 14:22 GMT3
Which is the best site for online booking of air tickets in India? I am
familiar with rediff.com but they only let you book 90 days in advance.
Thanks.
El Al: Do their planes get bombed/hijacked?13 Aug 2006 14:17 GMT23
I've heard that the Israelis approach airline security differently from most
other countries.
Certainly one would think that their exposure is higher than most.
So: are Israeli airlines' incident rates higher, lower, or the same as most
Iberia - no longer for me13 Aug 2006 14:17 GMT1
Last year i did fly a couple of times with Iberia.
A complete disaster.
The flight started Brussels - Madrid (a feeder flight). A coke or a
coffee was more than 3 euro !
laptops/ipods/phones in the hold13 Aug 2006 08:23 GMT4
I'm due to fly into Stansted tomorrow from Luebeck en route to Belfast
and need to take a laptop with me (I'm off to a conference). I'm lucky
enough to have a hard case to store all my stuff in, but have a
question about putting electronic items in the hold. Can items with
