This is obviously all over the news today ... a few thoughts/questions: - are the airports/airlines able to give any guarantees regarding the safe/intact delivery of items that would normally be carried on board

Ok then if we are no longer allowed any carry on then why would airlines not increase their checked luggage allowances? Passengers are now faced with paying overages to take the same luggage weight that they did before.

Now that we are faced with not being allowed to have carry on with us when we board certain flights, it begs the question - Just how much security is involved in examining the luggage placed in the hold. At least with carry-on, there is an x-ray machine and inspectors who open ...

They are not mentioned on the permitted list. Lots of them are battery powered. Does this mean that, for flights departing the UK, they have to be packed as hold luggage? JohnT
