Bush is going to love this...13 Aug 2006 05:55 GMT10
There's no question in my mind that this president gets off on there
being constant reminders that we're in his war on terror so at least in
the US expect travel to be an absolute nightmare.
Arabs should be banned from flying in North America and Europe13 Aug 2006 04:18 GMT27
When are we in the west going to apply some rational logic to this air
travel security situation and apply severe restrictions on those who
represent the root threat to do harm and injury on planes instead of
treating everyone as if they are a suicide bomber?

Is air travel on its way out?

Can you pack spray cans in the suitcases e.g. hairspray, spray deodorant?
Hand baggage on flights to UK from Overseas12 Aug 2006 22:01 GMT26
I appreciate that due to the UK's 'knee jerk' reaction that no hand
baggage will be allowed on flights from UK Airports.
What then is the situation when flying to the UK from overseas? Has any
other country gone hysterical as well by banning cabin baggage or are

"No hand luggage" security12 Aug 2006 20:23 GMT20
This is obviously all over the news today ... a few
thoughts/questions:
- are the airports/airlines able to give any guarantees regarding the
safe/intact delivery of items that would normally be carried on board
Weight is Weight.12 Aug 2006 16:11 GMT11
Ok then if we are no longer allowed any carry on then why would
airlines not increase their checked luggage allowances? Passengers are
now faced with paying overages to take the same luggage weight that

Baggage in Hold security12 Aug 2006 15:51 GMT6
Now that we are faced with not being allowed to have carry on with us when
we board certain flights, it begs the question - Just how much security is
involved in examining the luggage placed in the hold. At least with
carry-on, there is an x-ray machine and inspectors who open ...
WRISTWATCHES12 Aug 2006 10:53 GMT1
They are not mentioned on the permitted list. Lots of them are battery
powered. Does this mean that, for flights departing the UK, they have to be
packed as hold luggage?

electronic equipment in hold luggage12 Aug 2006 10:14 GMT10
firstly, apologies for any X-posting
I'm due to fly into the UK tomorrow from Germany and need to take a
notebook computer with me (I'm off to a conference). At the moment,
passengers are being told to store all electronic kit in the hold. I'm
Cameras/Films/Memory Cards in hold baggage12 Aug 2006 08:39 GMT29
We are advised not to put the above items in hold baggage because the
hold baggage x-rays are a much higher dose than cabin baggage and will
ruin same.
Anybody any thoughts on this the scenario now that cabin baggage has to
Scotland to Chicago?12 Aug 2006 06:24 GMT23
Planning on visiting the US for two weeks leaving on the 9th Sept.
What would be the easiest/quickest/most comfortable way of getting to
Chicago for me?
